Telescope
A telescope is a round cylinder with an optical
tool for looking at distant objects by bending
light rays through a lens or the reflection of
light rays by a mirror.

What are Telescopes used for?

• Telescopes are used for looking at distant
  objects. Astronomers use telescopes to look at
  constellations, stars, and even planets!!
• Telescopes are not only used to look in the sky,
  but they are also used to look at things on land.

Magnifiers

• Magnifying instruments are extremely useful in
  science. They help us to be able to see details.
• Magnifying glasses, hand magnifiers, and micro
  boxes are examples of magnifying instruments.

What is a Microscope?

• A microscope is a tool using one or more
  magnifying lenses to see things too small to see
  with the naked eye.
• Before the microscope was invented, people
  thought there was nothing smaller than the
  smallest things that could be viewed with the
  human eye.

• There are several different types of
  thermometers. However, they all have the same

• Doctors use thermometers to measure a persons
  body temperature.
• Scientist and Chemist use thermometers to measure
  the temperature of a substance or solution.
• Meteorologists use thermometers to measure air
  temperature.
• Chefs use thermometers to measure food
  temperatures.
