Bridging the Pacific Rim Community through

• Formed in 1997
• Consortium of 36 leading research universities
  from 16 economies in the Pacific Rim
• APRU aims to foster cooperation in education,
  research and enterprise thereby contributing to
  the economic, scientific and cultural advancement
  in the Pacific Rim

conference held in Tsinghua University

Fellows Program

• Annual two-week program that brings together
  junior faculty
• To promote knowledge exchange and build
  cross-national, multidisciplinary collaboration
• Involves scholarly discussions with synchronized
  field immersion experiences
• Held across two APRU member economies

  knowledge and professional development of APRU
  researchers

• Formation of a core group of dedicated senior
  staff to move APRU forward

  APRU universities review development and
  implementation of APRU initiatives

  which presidents could focus on in their

• Senior staff to discuss these proposals and agree
  on next steps
• Senior staff will also review entire spectrum of
  APRU programs and initiatives
• Proposals for new initiatives are welcome to be
  discussed
• Senior staff to take leading role in
  spearheading, evaluating APRU initiatives
