Canadian Tire Foundation for Families (CTFFF)
  • Canadian Tire has made a significant investment
    in community involvement through the
establishment of its registered charity Canadian
    Tire Foundation for Families
  • CTFFF was launched in 1999 to provide a focus
for Canadian Tires charitable giving and to make
a meaningful difference in the lives of those in
    need
  • The mission of the CTFFF is to provide a helping
hand to families in need - focusing on ensuring
that no child is denied the life benefits of
    organized sport recreation
  • Together with its network of 1,170 retail stores
and over 57,000 employees across Canada, CTFFF
has donated over 28 million dollars to
charitable organizations that support families in
    local communities

Canadian Tire JumpStart (CT JumpStart)
  • Canadian Tire JumpStart is the national
    signature program of the CTFFF
  • This focus on a single national cause is
critical to communicate to customers exactly what
    CTFFF stands for
  • CT JumpStart was launched in 2005 to address an
important issue of national concernthe issue of
    physical inactivity of children
  • One of the barriers to physical activity is the
cost of participation. Research indicates that
1 in 3 Canadian families cannot afford to place
their children in sport and recreation activities
because of financial barriers (Ipsos Reid, 2005)
  • CTFFF acknowledged the need and took up the
challenge to help provide Canadian children in
financial need with the opportunity to
participate in sport and recreation through CT
JumpStart so they can develop essential life
    skills, self-esteem and confidence
  • Since its inception, Canadian Tire JumpStart has
helped more than 103,000 kids get active

Canadian Tire JumpStart Program Execution
  • Local Delivery Model
  • We are proud of the chapter model we have
    established which demonstrates our clear
    commitment to local community investment.
  • CT JumpStart has been a catalyst for community
    partnership in neighbourhoods across Canada,
delivering the program locally through 270
    volunteer-based chapters across the country.
Chapters are made up of Canadian Tire Dealers and
local organizations that serve families in need.
  • This model provides an opportunity for CT Dealers
to be directly connected with organizations in
    their community.
  • National Affiliates
  • There are several key national affiliated
organizations that participate on our Chapters,
    including
  • Canadian Parks and Recreation Association
  • YMCA Canada
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada
  • Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada
  • KidSport
  • In addition, there are several other
organizations that we partner with in Ontario,
including the Salvation Army Childrens Aid
    Shelters School Boards
  • Role of the Chapters
