- ON TIME ARRIVAL
- 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR FIRST MATCH
- Dressed and ready to go
- Introduce yourself to the coaches
- Team check-in
- Proper paperwork and registration cards
- Individual player inspections, match face to
card, number to roster - Talk to captains, explain coin toss at the
conclusion of current match - Start on time.

- How long is the match? Re-set your watch (the
previous game may have been different). - What size ball does this game require?
- When can the teams substitute?
- Is there a tie-breaker?
- What are some other differences?

- KNOW THE LAWS OF THE GAME
- When was the last time you read the book?
- What is the proper procedure for substitutions?
(You only get eleven!!) - What is the restart for the infringement you just
whistled? - What are the 10 penal fouls? Hint All the others
are non-penal (or misconducts) and will result in
an Indirect Free Kick.. - How do we administer a penalty kick?

- PRE-GAME PAPERWORK AND FINANCES
- HINT Bring a clipboard
- Go to the home team first. They have the match
paperwork. - When getting the paperwork, get the fees (No
pay, No play) - Inspect the home team first.
- Ensure there is a registered team administrator
in attendance. - Validate player names, with numbers and
pictures. - While this is being done, take note of players
equipment. - When complete with the home team, repeat it again
with the visitors.

- PRE-GAME BRIEFINGS WITH COACHES AND FELLOW
OFFICIALS - During the pre-game paperwork, introduce yourself
to the coaches - No pep talk, just a cordial introduction no
other expectations - Pre-game briefs as a referee team needs
discussion at a minimum - Unique rules of competition
- How to handle substitutes
- Penalty Kick procedures
- Positioning and expectations
- Methods of communication and importance of eye
contact

- START ON TIME
- If you are the first referee team of the day on a
specific field, conduct a field inspection (for
holes, sprinkler heads, unsafe conditions and
proper placement of nets). - Inspect the teams at least 25 minutes before the
scheduled game time. - Inspecting both teams should take no more than
10 minutes. - Conduct the referee team briefing at least 10
minutes before kick-off. - Five minutes before game time, conduct the coin
toss. - Call the teams to the field at least 3 minutes
before the scheduled game time. - START ON TIME.

- POST-GAME PAPERWORK
- The referee validates game data with the ARs,
i.e. scores, cautions, send-offs and any
supplemental report information. - Referee completes the game reports and gets teams
to sign. - Return player cards.
- Provide match reports to both teams.
- Put the match report in the envelope provided by
the home team. - Mail it when you get home.
- Divide the game fees accordingly (see the SCRA
provided guide)
