Laboratory Purpose

• Utilize the Universitys intellectual resources
  and research community on applied research
  projects that
• Address specific Acxiom needs in data and
  knowledge engineering
• Demonstrate ROI
• Require Acxiom sponsorship and participation at
  the business unit or group level
• Can be completed in 6 to 18 months

Laboratory History

• Umbrella Agreement concept developed with UALR,
  Fall of 2000
• Proposal formulated and submitted to ASTA,
  December 8, 2000
• Legal approval of the agreement and initial
  Laboratory funding, March 26, 2001
• First two projects funded, March 26, 2001
• First project completed (WebGrabber) with
  hand-off to Acxiom, August 31, 2001
