The IRTF Spectral LibraryF,G,K,M Stars

• We have been using SpeX to construct an infrared
  spectral
• library of stars. The library has two main uses
• Infrared classification of optically embedded and
  cool
• stars
• Infrared population synthesis studies
• When complete the IRTF Spectral Library will
  contain several
• hundred stars sampled across most of the HR
  diagram. The
• first part of the library consisting of FGKM
  stars is now
• available on the IRTF website (paper in
  preparation).
• OBA stars and Wolf-Rayet stars will be released
  soon.

IRTF Spectral Library FGKM stars

• Sample size 200 stars with optical MK
  classification
• 0.8-2.4 ?m all stars, majority 0.8-5.0 ?m
• R2000 at 0.8-2.4 ?m, R 2500 at 2.4-5.0 ?m
• S/N 100 typical (except in poor telluric
  regions)
• Spectra are flux calibrated
