Create a new template

• Click on Customize (top left monitor)
• Select template designer
• Select New
• Click left mouse on the right monitor
• Highlight
• Click over the bottom of right monitor
• Highlight

Save template

• Click save at top of monitor
• Save as 1-up 3-up

Open the exam

• Select patient I0009
• Patient exams
• Highlight the ultrasound exams
• Case 071607-742
• Case 022706-681
• Open with 1-up 3-up (your own template)

Hang the exams

• Drag the master image set
• more recent exam to the left viewport
• Older exam to the right upper viewport
• Adjust layout On left
• On right

Save Hanging protocol

• Click Customize at the top of the left screen
• Select Create hanging protocol
• Type Ultrasound under HP name
• OK

Case type

• Use Modality US
• Click on Disable series processing
• This will allow all of the images to display
  together even if taken in separate groups
• Save

Viewport info

• Keep Modality W/L and Auto W/L clicked
• This will use the W/L sent from the modality if
  this information is not sent by the modality, the
  images will auto W/L

More Viewport Info

• Check
• Columns 3
• Rows 4
• Fit to size
• Uncheck the Window/Level under Apply to Image
  Set- (optional)
• Save Viewport info
• Click Next

Save viewport 2

• Matching prior
• Change up to 10 years
• Change the type to modality and body part
• You can also use exact CPT for exact match
• You can use similar CPT code, may work if the CPT
  codes are grouped in VistA
• Click on disable series processing (??)
• Save case info

More Viewport Info

• Check
• Columns 3
• Rows 2
• Fit to size
• Uncheck the Window/Level under Apply to Image
  Set- (optional)
• Save Viewport info
• Click Save Stage

Save stage

• Dont touch the pop-up box
• Click on the arrow top right hand corner next to
  TP 1-up 3-up
• OK
• Select template Wide-2
• Drag the recent Ultrasound master image set from
  the preview box to the merged viewport

Adjust layout

• This represents the layout per monitor, not over
  the entire merged viewport
• Now click Next Stage on pop-up box

Save Stage 2

• Click on the case info tab
• Use this stage when priors are not available
• Save Case info

• Check
• Columns 2
• Rows 3
• Fit to size
• Uncheck the Window/Level under Apply to Image
  Set- (optional)
• Save Viewport info
• Click Save Hanging Protocol

Test the Hanging protocol

• Close the exam
• Re-open by simply double clicking on the study
• Close and try again with button Open/ No prior
