Title: Future tense Spanish II
1Future tense Spanish II
2You have already been using future tense
expressions in your Spanish lessons.
Voy a estudiar matemáticas (I am going to study
math) is one way. We call this the immediate
future tense (ir infinitive
3You have also used the present tense with a time
expression
El domingo dormimos hasta las ocho (Sunday, we
are sleeping until 8) is another way to express
future plans.
4We have also used expressions which indicate
future actions.
Pienso estudiar matemáticas (I plan to study
math) is an example of a third way. Other verbs
that fall into this category include querer,
esperar, necesitar.
5There is, however, a separate tense which is the
equivalent of our English future tense
It expresses what will happen, but it is not used
as frequently as our present tense is used
6The formation of the future tense is very easy
- DO NOT drop the ar, -er, -ir verb ending!
72. Add the following endings for ALL of the
verbs (-ar, -er, -ir)
-é, -ás -á
-emos -án
8So the verb hablar will be conjugated
l
hablaré hablarás hablará
hablaremos hablarán
9The er verb comer will be conjugated
comeré comerás comerá
comeremos comerán
10The Spanish verb vivir will be conjugated
l
viviremos vivirán
viviré vivirás vivirá
11I will bring your book to class today. Traeré tu
libro a clase hoy día. Mia will wear her new
dress to the dance. Mia llevará su vestido nuevo
al baile.
