• To ensure that every underprivileged child

  opportunity.

• Educate, empower and enable every individual
  who wishes to make a positive difference in the
  life of an underprivileged child.

• To involve youth in the cause of underprivileged
  children.
• Provide Leadership opportunities for youth
• Provide Volunteering opportunities that count
  towards their school volunteering hours.
• Provide a platform to do hands on volunteering
  locally (Atlanta Food-Bank, Hands on Atlanta,
  etc)

• Getting Started
• This is for Middle school and High school Youth
  only
• Pick a minimum of 4 schools
• Start this project by Feb of 2008
• Get a minimum of 10 Youth involved
• Focus on one event - The Dream Mile 5K Run/Walk
  (Sept 20/27)

• 2. Dream Mile 5K Run/Walk - Individual Effort
• Register and get their own web page for the Dream
  Mile.
• Set personal targets - Registrations and Funds.
• Request Family and Friends in Atlanta and
  anywhere to donate to the cause and help them
  reach their personal targets.
• Get at least 5 more people to register for the
  walk, regular walk or teenage walk
• Present the Vibha video and the Dream Mile
  information at their school clubs, with schools
  permission.
• Make a presentation at the office/corporation of
  their parents for their sponsorship and
  participation. Parents help is needed.
• The student will prepare their presentation based
  on the video and the material available at Vibha
  website. This will build their presentation
  skills.

• 3. Dream Mile 5K Run/Walk - School Effort
• Introduce the Dream Mile 5K Run/Walk to their
  Indian/South-Asian Club and make it one of their
  sponsored events.
• Create a separate web page for their school and
  create a team for the Dream Mile 5K.
• Make presentations to other clubs and get more
  registrations.
• Make a presentation to the Athletic Department
  and get their Athletic team to register (we got
  some teams like this in the past).

• 4. Dream Mile 5K Run/Walk - Vibha Youth Effort
• Create a common web page coordinating the work of
  all schools and all Vibha-Youth participants.
• Reach out to other schools where there are no
  Vibha-Youth Volunteers. Expand for Next Year !!
• Spread the word outside their School as well,
  with publicity efforts - Festival of India, HTA
  and other places with an adults assistance.
• Work as One Team !! Have Fun !!!

• 5. Dream Mile 5K Run/Walk - Rewards !
• At the walk, Vibha will give trophies for the top
  three who raised the most money.
• All the Vibha Youth participants will be
  recognized separately at the walk, may be with a
  different color T-shirts (or some other
  souvenir).
• All Vibha Youth participants will get a
  certificate
• Make sure that all these volunteer hours get
  counted towards their school volunteer hours.

• 6. Future Plan (2009)
• Youth Oriented fund-raising and awareness
  generation programs.
• Linking with grassroots projects in India and
  interacting with children in India.
• Coordinating the project visits of youth to visit
  projects in India during vacations.
