  • 1. SBR is provided mainly as a facultative course
  • Teaching methods
  • a) lectures, seminars most common form of
    providing the course
  • group work, individual studies these methods
    are used rather for particular topics trips,
    visiting teachers highly recommended,
    especially for forestry and fishery issues.
  • b) demanding parts of the material from the
    particular field of interest what parts are
    especially complicated/problematic why?, how to
    solve these problems?
  • Presentation of different, historical models of
    agriculture in comparison to the sustainable one.
  • Relationship between agriculture and nature
    conservation areas.
  • To add a new chapter/subchapter of material.
  • There is a need to develope the issue of the
    process of urbanisation on rural areas
  • c) tasks for the students, topics for student
    seminars written assignments
  • Basic exercises for students which should be
    finsihed with discussion.
  • What is new
  • common EU policy in the field of agriculture
  • use Baltic 21 Agriculture, Forestry Fishery
    Sector Action Programm as an example
  • The importancy of NATURA 2000 in connection to
    agriculture policy
  • d) what is new in the particular field of
    interest? What is missing in the current version?
    Updating information in relation to e.g. the
    Environmental Science book. Another target
    students group?
  • Lack in manegement skills e.g. in collective
    agriculture

  • Additional materials for the teachers what are
    the teachers needs in relation to that?
  • Apart from booklets and video tapes additional
    materials like Power Point Presentations
    available on web or CDs could be useful
  • Additional literature for the students
    proposals
  • Teachers responsible for finding national
    literature (e. g. journals, papers, books,
    reviews showing case studies, local cases) and
    providing them for students.
  • Vision of development of the new course (new
    elements?, new materials?, new booklets?, use of
    modern technologies? using of webpage)
  • It's necessary to add to the booklets new parts
    of nature conservation (especially concerning EU
    initiative of pan-european NATURA 2000 system) to
    widen the subchapter of biodiversity (containing
    information about implementation convention of
    biodiversity).
  • It is possible to adapt and include as a part of
    this topic the fish games
  • It is suggested that at the end of each chapter
    could be added a glossary as well as list of key
    questions for students.
  • 6. Practical use of the course can the
    teachers and the students benefit from it
    professionally?
  • We hope that the process of interaction between
    teachers and students provides lots of benefits ?
