18UWMRC Proposal
- Objective - monitor and evaluate moisture
movement and moisture balance in a bioreactor
landfill - Procure and install innovative instrumentation to
monitor in situ moisture content - Intensive monitoring period
- Develop a moisture balance within parallel
aerobic and anaerobic cells
19Volusia County
- Site engineers have recommended bioreactor
operation at the Volusia County landfill. - Unique opportunities because of shredding
operation and double-composite liner. - Pressure transducer installation is planned.
20Current Schedule
- Schedule is being dictated by two factors
- 1. The Permit
- 2. Filling of Cell 3 at NRRL
21Response to RAI3
- DEP Issued an RAI3
- Involved some minor issues as well as a few
additional changes to the operations plan - Operation plan changes included assurance of
daily monitoring of some parameters
22Response to Paul Stills Comments
- Schedule
- GPS System
- UF Lab Equipment
- Installation of Additional Pressure Transducers
23(No Transcript)
24GPS
- Purpose Provide an accurate, efficient, and
rapid means to monitor surface elevations for
settlement analysis and equipment installation.
25Laboratory Equipment
26Drying Oven
27Muffle Furnace
28Grinder for ProcessingSolid Waste
29Installation of Pressure Transducers
- The project team made a decision that the value
gained by the installation of additional pressure
transducers was worth the cost.
