Nucleus

• The cell nucleus is a cellular organelle enclosed
  by a doubled-layered, porous membrane.
• Function
• Storage place for DNA.
• Gives out orders to other cell organelles.
• It also holds chromatin, another version of DNA.

It also holds the nucleolus which produces
ribosomes to make protein.

Nuclear Envelope

• The nuclear envelope is a membrane that shields
  the nucleus.
• It contains pores so that cell products can move
  in and out of the cell.

Endopasmic Reticulum

• Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum produces and
  transports proteins.
• Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum produces and
  transports lipids.

Golgi Apparatus

• An organelle that prepares cellular products for
  secretion.
• It packages the cellular products.

Mitochondria

• Organelle housing enzymes that catalyze reactions
  of aerobic respiration.
• This is the energy source of the cell.

Cytoplasm

• The contents of the cell, excluding the nucleus
  and cell membrane.
• Jelly-like substance.

Lysosomes

• Organelles that contains digestive enzymes.
• Acts like a garbage disposal in the cell.

Cell Membrane

• A protective bi-layered membrane that surrounds
  the whole cell.
• It is selectively permeable and it uses signal
  transduction to gain information about its
  surroundings.

Vacuoles

• Membranous cytoplasmic sac formed by enfolding of
  the cell membrane.

• Plant cells functions almost like animal cells.
• Plants cells contain an additional organelle
  called chloroplast to help with photosynthesis.
