• Making the experience that Africa is not really
  involved in the global scientific network the
  idea was to create an exchange to establish a
  cooperation
• Giving Kenyan and German students the opportunity
  to experience different academic systems in an
  unfamiliar cultural context

• Juergen Theiss had the idea for the exchange
  during his time as an intern at UNESCO Paris
• Since 1998 German students from Free University
  in Berlin study at University of Nairobi for one
  academic year
• Support and Funding by DAAD
• This year five scholarships
• Two Kenyan students went to Germany
