Outdoor Environmental Adventures 3 weeks,
grades 4-8 July 1 July 22, 2010 Students
experience the best of our programs at
Brookville and Caumsett!

Students explore the world of nature with
activities at Caumsett, on boats and while
canoeing.

Students will develop outdoor skills and
teamwork through our Low and High Ropes courses,
canoeing, orienteering and survival programs

Summer Marine Biology 3 weeks, grades 8-12 July
1-22, 2010

• Shore-based activities at Caumsett
• Aboard canoes, north south shore boats
• Special trips snorkeling, the aquarium,
  oyster farm
• Presentation of research projects to family
  on last day

Summer Strings Academy August TBA, 2010This
one-week intensive high school level string
orchestra camp is based at the Long Island High
School for the Arts, and gives students the
opportunity to rehearse and perform with
professional musicians from the LI Philharmonic.
The Academy includes orchestra and chamber
ensemble repertoire, master classes, and
break-out sessions on a number of skills-related
topics.

Students had the opportunity to learn conducting
from Music Director David Stewart Wiley.
Students gathered around the piano bench with LI
Phil cellist Vivian Israel to study the sheet
music of Mozart's "Table Music," which when
placed on a table between two players, can be
played from opposite directions.

A Final Evening Performance is provided for staff
and students families

Summer Arts Academy July TBA, 2010 This
intensive four-week program in the visual and
performing arts is for interested students in
grades 6 12. Located at the Long Island High
School for the Arts in Syosset, it offers
individualized coaching with professional artists
who are also experienced master teachers.
Ensemble work and public performances help
students to strengthen existing skills and
explore new ones.
