• Six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived at
  Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had
  raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in
  Jesus' honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was
  among those reclining at the table with him- John
  121-2

• Why was Lazarus raised from the dead? What God
  does for us, he doesnt just do for us, but for a
  greater purpose

• Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that
  Jesus was there and came, not only because of him
  but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from
  the dead. So the chief priests made plans to
  kill Lazarus as well, for on account of him many
  of the Jews were going over to Jesus and putting
  their faith in him - John 128-11

• They want a conquering king wholl overthrow the
  Romans. Jesus wants so much more than that for
  them

• As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he
  wept over it and said, "If you, even you, had
  only known on this day what would bring you
  peace-- but now it is hidden from your eyes. The
  days will come upon you when your enemies will
  build an embankment against you and encircle you
  and hem you in on every side

  apart- no stone left upon another
