  • Report examines rates of access to hospital care
    per 100,000 residents within LHINS and average
    wait times for patients within LHINS.
  • Examines five wait times for 12 procedures.
  • Findings
  • For 9 of 12 procedures, residents living in
    GTA/905 LHINs have rates of access per 100,000
    residents that are lower than provincial average
    (for 6 of 9 procedures GTA/905 LHINs were the
    lowest to third lowest)
  • For another 9 of the 12 procedures, residents
    living in GTA/905 LHINs have rates of access per
    100,000 residents that are lower than Northern
    Ontario
  • GTA/905 residents are also waiting 4 were
    longer than provincial average, two were at the
    provincial average, 4 were only slightly shorter.
    For rates of access to improve, wait times will
    likely increase.
