Introduction
  • Following issues the Internet Safety Working
    Group was established
  • Collaboration between SWGfL, Avon and Somerset
    Police and North Somerset Council
  • Objective
  • To reduce the risks associated with Internet use
    within schools
  • To implement suitable support processes in the
    event issues arise.

Context
  • Internet Safety Working Group comprises
    organisations with different view points
  • Avon and Somerset Police focus on protecting
    children through detecting and prosecuting
    illegal use of the Internet (e.g. child abuse)
  • SWGfL focus on protecting all users by preventing
    access to both illegal and inappropriate
    material.
  • These differing view points complement each other
    and constitute the strength of the collaboration
