7Types and Distribution of Accomodation
From the very beginning the activity of ANTREC
has concentrate on the internal market, the
Romanian tourists representing the great majoraty
of the total(75). The activities
undertaken by ANTREC reached the following
directions regular participation to internal and
local fairs, setting up of ANTREC web site, issue
of the catalogue of agroturistic farms, trainning
programmes for the owners of the farms houses and
their employees which contributed to the increase
of the quality of touristic services.
Although the promotion has not been directed
especially to the foreign market, the interest of
the foreign tourists in the Romanian rural
tourism increased, therefore in 2003 the
percentage of the foreign tourists reached 20
and in 2004 we estimate is 30. We hope
like next year to increase the number of rooms
of the guesthouses and farmhouses from ANTREC
network and also to increase the quality of
services provided by these. Our estimates
are that in the following 3 years the percentage
of the foreign tourists will increase to over 35.
8Classification Scheme
ANTREC requires high standards of quality
for all the guesthouses and agrotouristic farms.
All the guesthouses have been inspected by
representatives of the Authorization and Control
Departament within the Tourism Ministry and were
classified following strict quality assessment
standards. Members are also inspected by
the local ANTREC representatives to ensure that
the highest possible standards of cleanliness,
courtesy and customer service are observed.
The National Authority for Tourism in Romania
awards daises to guesthouses and farmhouses.
Properties are rated from 1- 5 daises based on
the level of comfort and customer care.
9Classification Scheme
Concerning standards of comfort,
homologation and classification requirements for
high classes demand bathroom and water supply
inside the house, spacious rooms, comfortable
beds, nice interior(rugs, curtains,
nightslamps, radio and tv, rustic furniture) as
for the out door space, it is neccesary to have a
welltended garden with palyground for kids, as
well as tables, chairs, benches.
10Classification Scheme
Everything should create a civilised
enviroment with rural characteristics.The host
should take care so their daily chores will not
spoil the guests quiet and rest, but they also
take advantage of common exercise in order to
familiarise children and youngsters with what
life in the village really is.
11Classification Scheme
The tarrifs differ depending on the board
ond lodging class and geographical location but
the owners has full liberty of fixing them in the
line with the market economy regulations, taking
into account demand - supply, space and season.
12Classification Scheme
As a rule, breakfast is
overabundant.Tourists commonly opt for two daily
meals(breakfast and supper) so that they can take
the most of their time and visit neighbouring
zones.
13QUALITY ASPECT
ANTREC has had a continuous activity concerning
the improuvement of the evaluation system.
Starting with 1994, this association has provided
valuable suggestions and reccomendations
regarding the change of criteria - we exchanged
oppinions and information with similar european
and national associations, to beneffit of
world-wide experience.
