  • Test time is 40 minutes made up of Planning 5
    minutes
  • Writing 30 minutes
  • Editing 5 minutes
  • Planning is completed on separate page and this
    is not included for marking
  • Nature of the task is a Narrative (Story)
  • Stimulus material is provided

Features of a Narrative
  • The story you write will need to have
  • Focus on plot action driven, character driven
  • Demonstrate Orientation, Complication and
    Resolution
  • Writing needs to be in sentences, within properly
    constructed paragraphs
  • Care and attention to spelling, grammar and
    legibility of writing

Areas to Work On
  • Think about interesting story beginnings do not
    use the old Once upon a time Use opening
    sentence to create interest / tension
  • Do not spend more than 5 minutes on planning
  • Use creative ways to indicate Time in your
