ETI (Economic Technological Intelligence)

• In 2004 the European Commission launched 24
  supporting measures (ETI) helping SMEs accessing
  European funding
• FASTER is one of these ETI measure aiming at
  supporting SMEs from the transport sector to
  access European funding
• Services offered training, technological audit,
  screening of project ideas, partnership searches,
  support in the writing of project proposal,
  administrative and financial assistance, etc...

FASTER role towards SMEs

• Raise awareness about opportunities offered by
  FP6 for SMEs
• Promote transregional cooperation between SMEs
  and facilitate the creation of clusters
• Identify research needs of SMEs
• Identify the best SMEs suitable for involvement
  in FP6
• Address SMEs to the most appropriate instruments
  within the FP6
• Identify Integrated projects (IP) and Network of
  Excellence (NoE) needs in terms of SMEs
  participation
• Training SMEs on the participation procedures to
  access European funding
• Define and implement an effective communication
  strategy to reach as many potential interested
  SMEs as possible
• Showcase 10 success cases on successful
  involvement of SMEs in FP6
