My working definition

    identify and solve their problems and issues

A brief overview of how the workshops came about
and what we were aiming to achieve
  • Primary Care Workshops run in January and
    February 2008 (within leadership, influencing
    skills were the main and most pressing priority)
  • new opportunity to raise the profile of LKS, and
    influence the agenda of local Trusts (publ., of
    the Hill Review, and the Darzi Report)
  • twelve face to face full day workshops (16
    attendees max.) in 10 SHA areas, plus immediate
    post workshop evaluations an evaluation three
    months post workshop

My reflections on the workshops
  • some truly excellent and engaged staff, with
    real commitment to ongoing learning
  • 25 of attendees have contacted me to add to
    their inside-out toolkit, ie learning styles
  • some are lacking in confidence, isolated, are
    not particularly strategic and lack marketing
    skills
  • some are dealing with unresourceful emotions
