Mr. Karl D. Verhulst
  • IT Governance is a very broad topic with varying
interpretations.  This session will cover the key
components of a governance framework decision
    rights leadership, best practices and
execution.  When pursuing IT Governance, one
chooses which best practice is the most relevant
to address the capability maturity gap, ie
ISO27001, ITIL or Val IT.  However, before
implementing best practices, a COBIT assessment
will provide valuable information on the current
capability maturity levels in the organization
and pinpoint the key priorities.  Regulatory
compliance, also has an important role to play in
    any IT Governance framework.

Dr. Thanachart Numnonda
  • IT Governance is composed with various aspects.
Not only process and people but also technology
is one of the most importance parts of IT
Governance tools. Identity Management is the
sample tool for the ultimate integration of
policies, people, process and technology managing
the identities of people and things allowing us
deliver the right information to the right people
    at the right time.

It is managements role to ensure that the
governance of IT is aligned with the governance
of business. IT projects must be taken with a
clear business outcome in mind. IT Governance
today involves issues such as leadership,
organizational structure, business processes and
compliance to industry-accepted standards. It is
both an art and a science to achieve the right
balance to nurture the technical while keeping it
aligned with business outcomes. The key success
factor is in people. For the past seven years,
Software Park Thailand has been a major driver of
capacity building for our IT human resources,
especially in the area of IT security. Thailand
needs a strong foundation of human capital.
Without a base that is strong in the fundamentals
of IT governance, we cannot have a good
governance structure to take our country forward.
