• A rock that forms from heat and pressure deep
  inside the Earth
• Example slate

• A material found in the Earths crust that helps

• The movement of rock from one place to another-
• Water, wind, and glaciers can cause erosion

Weathering

• The slow breaking down of rocks into smaller
  pieces

• The loose material on top of the Earths surface
  where most plants grow
• Example dirt

• Rich , dark soil formed from dead plants and
  animals that have rotted away

• The remains or prints of plants and animals that
  lived over 10,000 years ago and that have turned
  into rock
