Who Are We?
  • The Grants Collaborative of Tampa Bay is a group
    of professionals whose primary job
    responsibilities include grant planning, proposal
    writing, and/or resource development.

History
  • The Pinellas County Resource Consortium began
    meeting in 1993 through the efforts of Kathy
    Mitchell, Pinellas County Government.
  • In 1995, local grant writers from Pinellas County
    Schools and St. Petersburg Junior College met to
    explore possible grant partnerships.
  • 24 community grant writers met in November and
    the Pinellas Grants Collaborative was born.
  • Since then, the collaborative has grown steadily
    and now is an incorporated 501(c)(6) entity.

Mission
  • The mission of the Grants Collaborative of Tampa
    Bay, Inc. is to promote professionalism and
    excellence in the field.
  • To accomplish this mission, the Collaborative
    will
  • enhance skills in grant and proposal writing,
  • assist in resource identification,
  • maintain a peer network,
  • promote partnerships and collaborations, and
  • provide education and training.

Structure
  • The Grants Collaborative of Tampa Bay is a
    501(c)(6) professional organization, tax exempt
    under the IRS.
  • Donations to the collaborative are not tax
    deductible for the donor.
  • The collaborative is not exempt from sales tax.
  • By-Laws govern the organization.

  • Members are elected for 2-year terms.

Members
  • Members include a broad representation from local
    government, non-profit human service and arts
    agencies, independent for-profit contractors,
    schools, colleges and universities, funding
    sources and those seeking funding.
  • In 2006 there were 63 paid members.

Meetings
  • The Collaborative meets monthly on the second
    Tuesday at 900 AM.
  • An agenda and a copy of the previous meeting
    minutes are sent out by e-mail prior to each
    meeting.
  • There is usually a guest speaker scheduled.

Become a Member!
  • 20.00 for annual membership, due January 1 of
    each year.
  • Complete an application (accessible on the web
    site).
  • Return to Membership Chair at a meeting or by
    mail with annual dues.
