Chemical manufacturers whose process requires
mixing, distilling and/or transporting
combustible chemicals require gas monitoring
primarily in the tank farm area and distillation
columns. Our S4000CHs are used due to their ease
of calibration, maintenance and the ability to
detect a wide variety of chemicals. Most of the
sensors are located in the tank farm with one
sensor for every 2-3 supply pumps. The sensors
are located a few feet above ground because the
chemicals are heavier than air. The distillation
area has sensors located in areas of potential
leaks. Since the S4000CHs are mounted outside,
splash guards are used to protect the sensors
from wind and water hose downs.
