The rural idyll

• This is a new romanticised view of the
  countryside
• The industrial revolution prompted mass migration
  and rapid expansion of towns and cities
• Composition-painting is ruined by the central
  feature (a factory,) the colours are angry (red,)
  dirty (greys,) unorganised and could represent
  blood and the effects of pollution
