The Excellence in Leadership Academy is the
capstone experience for emerging student leaders.
The mission of the academy is to enhance the
leadership ability of youth through education,
experience, and exposure. Participation is
highly selective and attendees represent the top
tier of high school students.

• 1. What is the cost to attend and what does it
  cover?
• - The cost of attendance is 300 for on-site
  students, 150 for commuters, and 275 per
  student for groups of 10 or more. This is
  inclusive of lodging, meals, educational
  materials, awards, and facilitator fees. Travel
  related costs are not included and are the
  responsibility of the participant.
• 2. Does the academy offer financial assistance?
• -No. The academy does not offer financial
  assistance however, students are encouraged to
  fundraise to fulfill the tuition requirement. A
  fundraising guide is available to assist in this
  endeavor.
• 3. Where will I stay?
• -Participants will reside at the Embassy Suites
  in Baton Rouge, LA.
• 4. Who are the facilitators?
• - Facilitators are trained conference
  professionals and successful leaders in the
  global market..
• 5. What type of supervision is provided?
• - The staff will be housed on site during the
  conference. The student to staff ratio is
  10-to-1. The staff is inclusive of a registered
  nurse and security officer.
• 6. Is the academy affiliated with any political
  organization?
• - No. The academy is a non-partisan
  organization.
• 7. How will I know if I am accepted to attend
  the academy?
• - Applicants are informed of their admissions
  decision within 3 days of submitting their
  application.

• Participants have an opportunity to refine their
  purpose and direction for future goals and
  develop concrete action plans for completion.
  This session is facilitated by Dream Katchers
  INC., a strategic planning and personal
  development firm. Strategic plans include but are
  not limited to college admissions and financial
  aid planning, venture capital, and workforce
  transition.
