3SILAGE
- FERMENTATION
- IS A NATURAL
- PROCESS
4 To achieve rapid fermentation of silage The
following criteria must be met
- Adequate soluble sugars
- Proper Moisture and Maturity Content
- An Anaerobic Condition
- Presence of Rapid Lactic Acid Producing
Microbials
5Feedtech
- Moisture Recommendations
- Silage moisture should be in the range of 50-70
moisture - High moisture grains (must be cracked/rolled)
25-35 moisture
6Lactic Acid Producing Microbials Must Lower pH
to 4.5 or Lower as Quickly as Possible

17Feedtech
- THE EFFECTIVE MICROBIAL INOCULANT
18FEEDTECH GRANULAR
- Packaged in 25 pail
- No mixing required
- Apply one half pound per ton of silage or high
moisture grain - One half provides 100,000 CFUs of lactic acid
producing bacteria per gram of silage - One 25 pail treats 50 tons of silage
19FEEDTECH WATER SOLUBLE
- Packaged two 625 gram packages per box
- Mix 625 gram package into 50 quarts of water
- Apply 1 quart per ton of silage or high moisture
grain - Supplies 100,000 CFUs of lactic acid producing
bacteria per gram of silage - One package treats 50 tons of silage
20FEEDTECH WATER SOLUBLE
- Feedtech is also available in a 25 pound pail
which will treat 1000 tons of silage. This is a
very popular and practical size of packaging.
21Feedtech Mixing Instructions
- Mix .4 oz. of Feedtech Inoculant per volume
of water applied per ton of treated silage. - Recommended Water Volumes
- Baleage 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon per ton
- Bagged Silage 1 quart per ton
- Upright Silos Applied at blower 1 quart per ton
- Applied at Chopper 1 pint per ton
- Boom Applicators 1/2 to 1 gallon per ton
22PREFERMENTED FEEDTECH MICROBIAL INOCULANT
- Provides nutrients and buffers to support
microbial growth for up to 72 hrs - Provides 500,000 - 750,000 CFUs per gram of
silage after 12-24 hours of prefermentation - Increased bacterial numbers lower pH of silage
rapidly
23Feedtech Prefermentation Instructions
- Mix 5 lbs. ( 80 ounces ) of Feedtech Water
Soluble Inoculant into 5 gallons of clean water. - Allow to preferment for 12 to 24 hours. Keep
solution out of direct sunlight. - Add prefermented solution to water at the
following rates.
24Application Rate Per Ton
- 1 Pint per ton - Add 5 gallons of the
prefermented
solution to 20 gallons of water. Apply
at one pint per ton. This 25
gallons will treat
200 tons of silage. - 1 Quart per ton - Add 5 gallons of
prefermented solution
to 45 gallons of water. Apply
at 1 quart per ton . This 50 gallons
will treat 200 tons of
silage. - 1 Gallon per ton - Add 5 gallons of
prefermented
solution to 195 gallons
of water.
Apply at 1 gallon per ton.
This 200
gallons will treat 200 tons of
silage.
