IMPACT Messages
The IMPACT model of team care provided patients
with 107 more depression-free daysalmost
one-third of a year or more than a season of
lightover a two-year period compared to and for
the same costs of Usual Care.
IMPACT care works in diverse health care
settings, and several organizations around the
country already offer IMPACT for their patients.
IMPACT team care results in better and more
cost-effective treatment than usual care for late
life depression, an illness that affects three
million people annually.
The IMPACT model is associated with an enormous
benefit in health for depressed patients. It
significantly reduces depressive symptoms,
improves physical functioning, improves quality
of life, and decreases pain.
