Messages

• Basecamps Messages are called Conversations in
  Plone
• Conversations are grouped into forums
• Each project would have a orkspace
• A workspace can have many message boards, each of
  which can contain many forums

To-do lists

• Plone has excellent o-do lists
• Items are called issues
• Any number of to-do lists can be associated with
  a project
• Issues can be categorised more flexibly
• Plone to-do lists have more flexible states
• Issues can be sorted more flexibly

File sharing

• Yes, Plone has a ile repository and versioning
• It can also have multiple repositories, eg
• private
• public

Writeboards

• Plone can have multiple riteboards
• No diff at the moment but coming soon
• But you can
• Send content via email (mail lists)
• Include pictures links
• Use Plones very flexible auto-versioning

Plone can be customized

• We (DART/ARCHER) are actively developing a
  collaborative research workspace based on Plone
  the GRS at JCU can help inform this development.
  It is a win-win situation
• Plone can do many things out of the box
• Plone can also be modified to do whatever you
  want
• Plone is open source and has a large developer
  community
• We have built a form into plone to allow you to
  easily comment on the GRS portal, request new
  features, request modifications, report problems.
