Superconductivity - Cooper Pairs

• Cooper pairs are assisted by atoms in a lattice.
• Two atoms are drawn together as an electron
  moves between them.
• This increases the charge density, attracts a
  2nd electron, and results in a pairing of
  electrons.
• The attraction between electrons is small, they
  change partners often, but the lattice helps them
  to pass.
• The effect continues through the crystal like a
  sports crowd doing the wave.
