000, a record in SA at the time - And the very next year, Sanlam sells its
millionth policy - In 1970 premium income reaches R100 million
- In 1974, we become the largest insurer in SA when
our premium reaches R173,3 million - In 1989 Sanlams total income passes the R10
billion mark - 1991 Premium income exceeds the R10 billion
mark - Last year, Sanlams business inflows exceeded
R100 billion
6Demutualisation
- In 1998 Sanlam undertakes a comprehensive
demutualisation exercise which culminates in its
listing on the JSE on 30 November
