Baby Bookworms Summer Reading Program
We are helping to grow independent readers, and
promoting enjoyable interaction between
parents and children.
This early literacy program will teach
pre-reading skills.

Excellent PR for our libraries,
and a great way to regenerate our enthusiasm for
SRP.

Parent reads to baby fifteen minutes, then checks
a box.

  • Book lists can be added in columns surrounding
    the chart.
  • The San Francisco Public Librarys reading log
    includes suggested activities in each block, such
    as share rhymes with baby during bath time.

    for an application. The catalog shows low-cost
    board books.
  • Approach local businesses for donated gift
    certificates, passes or other items to use as
    prizes for the adults.
  • If budget allows, silk-screen your library logo
    and baby SRP graphics on tiny tees.

Promote Baby Summer Reading
  • Schedule a baby storytime to demonstrate reading
    aloud, fingerplays, and songs talk about the
    baby SRP
  • Make posters and hang everywhere contact the
    media post on your library website
  • Print up bookmarks of favorite books for youngest
    readers
  • Use your expertise and imagination
