What is Internet Security?

• Set of rules, policies, procedures and technical
  measures used to prevent unauthorized right of
  entry, modification, theft, or physical damage to
  information systems.

• 1.) Install a virus Protection and a Firewall.
• 2.) Be careful with the information you give.
• 3.) Clean very often your memory cache.
• 4.) Download information, only, when you trust
  the sender.
• 5.) Check privacy policies of websites you
  visit.

INTERNET SECURITY LEXIC

• Hacker A person who accesses a computer network
  without permission for profit, criminal mischief,
  or personal satisfaction.
• Virus Software programs created to destroy data
  or disturb processing and memory systems.
  Viruses are very difficult to detect and spread
  rapidly.
• Jammer A person who uses software routines to
  tie up the computer hosting a Web site so
  legitimate visitors can not enter the site.
• Spoofer A person who fraudulently misrepresents
  him/herself as other organization, setting up
  false Web sites where they collect confidential
  information from visitors to the site.
• Sniffing A piece of software to intercept
  information passing from a user to the computer
  hosting a Web site. This information can include
  Credit Cards and other confidential data.
• Malicious Software Data flowing through the
  internet to transmit computer viruses.
