Virtual Media How does it work?
  • During a KVM connection, user requests a virtual
    media connection to a CD drive
  • The KX II creates a virtual connection between
    the CD drive to a virtual drive on the target
    server
  • The virtual drive is mounted on the target
    server by the D2CIM-VUSB (virtual media CIM)
    through the USB port on the target server
  • The CD drive appears on the target server as a
    USB connected drive
  • The user can read/write to the virtual drive
    from the target server OS BIOS
