    Impact/Market Driven Nodes along the DMIC
  • Each Node to be a self-sustained region with high
    quality infrastructure, enhanced connectivity to
    DFC, Highways, Ports, and hinterland having a
    logistics hub, a knowledge city and a
    agri-processing zone besides industrial
    areas/estates and special economic zones
  • Market Driven Nodes proposed in two categories
  • Investment Regions - Approx. 200 sq km Area
    (Minimum)
  • Industrial Areas - Approx. 100Sqkm Area
    (Minimum)
  • A total of 10 Nodes identified in consultation
    with State Governments

Proposed Implementation Structure
  • An Apex Steering Authority, headed by Prime
    Minister of India with concerned Central
    Ministers and Chief Ministers of respective DMIC
    States as Members
  • A Corporate entity, Delhi Mumbai Industrial
    Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) to
    undertake Planning of the Project, Development of
    its various components, coordinating with all
    stakeholders, monitoring of implementation, and
    raising of finances particularly overseas
  • Project specific companies to implement
    individual project components of Roads, Rail,
    Ports, Airports, Power, Logistics Hubs,
    Industrial Areas, SEZs, Agri Processing Zones,
    Skill Development Centers etc
  • Where ever necessary, State Governments would
    also a set up an Agency to coordinate projects
    within the state under their Chief Minister/
    Chief Secretary

Way Forward
  • To implement the DMIC as a project of national
    priority, GoI taking steps to set up the
    organizational structure viz.
  • Formation of DMIC Steering Authority
  • Formation of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor
    Development Corporation
  • To start work on Project Development, a Project
    Development Fund needs to be set up- estimated
    corpus US250Mn with assistance of Govts of Japan
    and India and FIs
  • Project Preparation can commence after approval
    of the two governments during Prime Minister
    Abes visit in August, 2007 so that actual node
    development work commences in January, 2008
  • Financing Options of each Project Component to be
    firmed up simultaneously with Project
    Preparation- Necessary to have Bankable Projects
  • Final Task Force Meeting in Tokyo on 23rd and
    24th July, 2007
