Do They Pass the Test?

• 1 John 41-6
• 41 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
  the spirits whether they are of God because many
  false prophets are gone out into the world.
• 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God Every spirit
  that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the
  flesh is of God
• 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus
  Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and
  this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye
  have heard that it should come and even now
  already is it in the world.
• 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have
  overcome them because greater is he that is in
  you, than he that is in the world.
• 5 They are of the world therefore speak they of
  the world, and the world heareth them.
• 6 We are of God he that knoweth God heareth us
  he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know
  we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

• I. Testing Spirits!
• A. By the mere fact that John tells Christians to
  test spirits means that not everyone who calls
  themselves Christians are acceptable to Christ.
• B. Stop believing
• C. A key test today is consistency.

• II.  We are Overcomers!
• A. I love vs. 4 You, dear children, are from
  God and have overcome them, because the one who
  is in you is greater than the one who is in the
  world.
• B. God in us can help us overcome temptation.

• 1 Cor 1013
  No temptation has seized you except
  what is common to man. And God is faithful he
  will not let you be tempted beyond what you can
  bear. But when you are tempted, he will also
  provide a way out so that you can stand up under
  it. Fight the one who is in the world and We
  will overcome.
• C. Our God is an awesome God!

• 1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth! 2 Sing
  the glory of his name make his praise glorious!
  3 Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So
  great is your power that your enemies cringe
  before you. 4 All the earth bows down to you
  they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your
  name." Selah 5 Come and see what God has done,
  how awesome his works in man's behalf!

• Psalm 6832-35 32 Sing to God, O kingdoms of the
  earth, sing praise to the Lord, Selah 33 to him
  who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders
  with mighty voice. 34 Proclaim the power of God,
  whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in
  the skies. 35 You are awesome, O God, in your
  sanctuary the God of Israel gives power and
  strength to his people. Praise be to God Do you
  want to overcome the world? THERE is Our
  POWER! Will You Embrace It?

  doctrine.

• The last part of this text says no matter how bad
  things seem Hang in There!
