(then termed a waterfall) in 1849 the current
dam was completed in 1900. It is the third one to
be built on this site.

are lifted about 50 feet. The flume of the
Fishway is about 300 feet long. It has both a
public viewing window and a counting window for
recording the numbers and species of fishes
passing through the flume.
