1Edinburgh International Film Festival
By Jason Lancaster
- An experience in the film industry
2The Cinemas
The Cameo - Showing mainstream and more artistic
films on three screens. Also includes a café.
Cineworld - The typical blockbuster style theater
with 12 screens, concessions, and stadium
seating.
Filmhouse - Main site for the festival. Three
screens with a café. Shows mainly local and
artistic films.
3Filmhouse - Headquarters
The Filmhouse is the main center for the
festival. It has three screens, the one above is
the biggest with more seating and Dolby Digital
sound with a digital projector. The Filmhouse
also has a café to eat and discuss the films. The
atmosphere is very open and everyone is there for
the same purpose so meeting new people is easy.
4Outside the Filmhouse
Outside the Filmhouse on our first day. It was
cloudy and cold but everyone was anticipating the
first day.
5Filmhouse Cafe
In the Filmhouse Café. The place you can meet
with other before and after a film. We were there
early so not many people were there but it fills
up closer to lunch and the afternoon.
6Edinburgh
Overall, the festival was a very good experience.
We didnt get to see many famous people since
most of the films were independent or foreign but
seeing films from other cultures was a good
experience in itself.
