Course Description
  • 50 hours of pre-clinical field experiences
  • 4 hours MS/HS student related activity such as
    HMV or VICA Skills
  • Experiences include observing, experiencing,
    evaluating and analyzing teaching in a public
    school.
  • 1 Credit Hour Required Course
  • Must be complete prior to Student Teaching

Purpose
  • DPI requirement
  • This is part of a larger requirement done in
    conjunction with other courses.
  • This course is not included in students grade
    point average (GPA).
  • Pre-curser to Student Teaching
  • Introduces the classroom experience without a
    direct teaching requirement.

Basic Information Sheet
  • Complete top half and insert your schedule on the
    back.
  • Home address is used as travel start point
  • Schools beyond 30 miles of Menomonie welcomed.
  • This form is submitted to the Office of Teacher
    Ed.
  • OTE formally arranges the school site and
    teacher.
  • E-mail is used to confirm placement (whenever
    verified)
  • Likely within two weeks from the orientation
    meeting.
  • Contact information is provided in the email from
    OTE

Pre-clinical Field Experience Audit
  • You must complete a minimum of 25 hours of
    supervised field experience in a technology
    education setting while enrolled in TECED-360.
  • For any hours already qualifying, please provide
  • A written description of the experience back of
    audit sheet
  • The name and title of the primary lead person
  • Approval initials by the instructor of TECED-360
  • For SPED 430/630 Inclusion hours, describe field
    experience (semester completed, setting,
    activity, frequency, hours)

  • First-day follow-up
  • Modules-five total
  • Essay questions-three total
  • MS/HS student related activity-4 hours minimum
  • Logs-equal 50 hours
  • Qualified hours reflected on audit
  • MS/HS activity
  • Observation logs

  • Five (5) modules are required.
  • Mod 1 due 1st Friday of October
  • Mod 2 due 1st Friday of November
  • Mod 3 due 1st Friday of December
  • Mod 4 due by last day of regular semester.
  • Hardcopy turned-in.
  • Mod 5 due by last day of regular semester.
  • Hardcopy turned-in.
  • Logs due by last day of regular semester.

  • Based on the OSU System
  • 090 or higher
  • Sless than 90 and higher than 70
  • U70 or lower
  • 10 points equals all Os.
  • 9 points means one S the rest Os.
  • 8 points means two S

  • Outstanding - exceeds defined specifications

Upon Arrival
  • Do not park in reserved spaces!
  • Check in at the office immediately.
  • Identify yourself as a Technology Teacher
    Education Student from UW-Stout and that you have
    permission to visit . . . teachers name.
  • Be prepared to sign a clipboard and wear a name
    tag.

Responsibilities Be prepared to
  • gather and document information needed for
    assignments.
  • answer questions posed by the cooperating
    teacher.
  • complete the Log for Preclinical Field Experience
    with you cooperating teachers signature.
  • hand in your assignments in a timely manner.
  • If comfortable, make visit to program at MS or HS

Professional Conduct
  • Remember that you are a guest!
  • Willingly extend the invitation to become useful.
  • Observe first, attend to assignments, then
    contribute to the class environment as the
    teacher permits.
  • Dress in such a manner that you will not be
    mistaken for being a student.
  • Shirt with buttons
  • Comfortable professional shoes
  • Be mindful of the lingering effects your choices
    from previous night can carryover to the next
    day.

The cooperating teacher may dismiss any student
who
  • fails to follow school policies.
  • fails to present or conduct himself or herself as
    an aspiring professional educator.
  • Inattentive
  • Unprepared
  • Tardy
  • Disrespectful
  • Inappropriate language or dress.
  • Very seldom do Stout T.E. students drop the
    ball!!
