Discription of photography
  • A photography job can take many different forms.
Some photographers freelance, others run there
own a studio or work for companies as salaried
    employees. Photographers can also further
customize their careers by choosing to specialize
in a certain kind of photography. From wedding
    photography to commercial photography to
    photojournalism, the possibilities are almost
    endless.

3
What's required
  • If you can create good photos you are a
photographer. Composition and technique are all
that really matters, and if you don't have a good
eye for composition, no school can give it to
you. Lighting, focus, exposure, developing and
touch-up are actually quite simple to learn if
you've already picked up the basics. If you can't
grasp the concept of "thirds", or basic group
posing, you'll never make it. It doesn't really
require school. You'd be better off by finding a
photographer who needs an assistant and learning
    the craft from a master.

anybody could be a photographer of anything.

7
what career intrests apply

  • you need to be good at taking pictures
  • you need to be good with people

working conditions
  • Working conditions for photographers vary
    considerably. Photographers employed in
government and advertising studios usually work a
5-day, 40-hour week. On the other hand, news
photographers often work long, irregular hours
and must be available to work on short notice.
Many photographers work part time or on variable
schedules. Most photographers spend only a small
portion of their work schedule actually taking
photographs. Their most common activities are
editing images on a computer-if they use a
digital camera-and looking for new business-if
    they are self-employed.

Dress requirments
  • formal Proper trousers in stead of jeans, long

leather shoes in stead of running shoes,

Average earnings
  • Median annual earnings of salaried photographers
were 26,170 in May 2006. The middle 50 percent
earned between 18,680 and 38,730. The lowest 10
percent earned less than 15,540, and the highest
10 percent earned more than 56,640. Median
annual earnings in the industry employing the
largest numbers of salaried photographers were
    22,860 in the photographic services
    industry.Salaried photographersmore of whom work
full timetend to earn more than those who are
    self-employed. Because most freelance and
    portrait photographers purchase their own
    equipment, they incur considerable expense
    acquiring and maintaining cameras and
    accessories. Unlike news and commercial
photographers, few fine arts photographers are
successful enough to support themselves solely
    through their art.

interests and abilities
  • The first successful picture was developed in
1827 by Niépce, it took 8 hours to expose. Two
years later Niépce joined Dageuure in a
partnership, but he died only four years later.
Daguerre is believed to be the "father" of
photography, since by accident he exposed a plate
    in his chemical cupboard.
  • James Clerk Maxwell began working with color in
1860, by taking three exposures, each one with a
different color filter (red, green, blue), and
then projecting the three images using three
    lanterns with the corresponding filters.
  • The first box camera was produced by George
Eastman in 1886, but it was way too costly. Two
years later, in 1888, four years after he created
the first flexible film, the first Kodak box
camera hit the streets. It was an instant
success. Finally, you could have a portable
device to take along on your trips and take
    pictures of those precious moments.

13
Why would you like or dislike this job?
  • I would like this job because I like to take
pictures of other people and I would like to take
    any kind of pictures like
