2How to Log In
Type your user name and password in the boxes in
the right hand column
or choose your school from the drop-down menu
and click go.
3Schools Home Page
Browse the sector areas, Pathfinder Packs,
Features or Search
4Searching
Type your keyword(s) into the Search box at the
top right hand corner of the page and click go.
For example
This will search the whole of Scran for Records,
Pathfinder Packs and Features containing the word
Degas.
5Searching
Alternatively, you can use the Advanced or
Fielded Search options
6Search Results
Search results are displayed as thumbnail images.
Simply click on the thumbnail or the Open link
to go to the record you want to view.
7Record View
This shows the title of the record, the postcard
sized image and the caption. Scroll down to get
more record details (dates, contributor etc.)
8Full Size Image
Click on the postcard sized image, or on the
Open link to open the full size image. This
will open in a new window.
9Downloading an Image
You can now download the image from Scran and
save it as a jpeg where you choose. PC right
click the mouse and select Save Image As Mac
hold down ctrl key and click mouse and select
Download Image As.
10Pathfinder Packs
Click on the Pathfinder Pack icon on the Schools
Home Page to Browse Scrans 2500 Pathfinder
Packs on a wide variety of topics.
Simply click on your chosen topic to view all the
subtopics.
11Pathfinder Packs
Click on your chosen sub-topic to view the list
of Pathfinder Packs.
12Pathfinder Packs
Click on the title of the Pathfinder Pack you
want to view.
13Pathfinder Packs
Click on any thumbnail to go to the Record.
Click on any attached teaching materials at the
top of the Pathfinder Pack to open them. Scroll
down to see the whole of the Pathfinder Pack.
