Intercollegiate Examination Course in General
Surgery

• Qualifications for the New Intercollegiate
  Specialty Examination in General Surgery are as
  follows
• Medical qualification recognised for registration
  by the GMC of UK or Medical Council of Ireland
• Evidence of having reached the standards of
  clinical competence defined in the
  Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum for the award
  of either CCT (UK) or CCST (Ireland).
• Three structured references in the format
  prescribed by JCIE.

This course is aimed at candidates who wish to
sit the Exit Examination in General Surgery
within the next 12 months. Candidates should have
already passed the Section 1 Multiple Choice
Paper. Candidates will be exposed to all aspects
of general surgery as defined in the
Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum. A maximum of
24 candidates will be accepted for the course.
The course will concentrate on Section 2 of the
Examination (clinicals) and will consist of
carefully designed and structured interviews on
clinical topics, some being scenario based
(structured orals) and some involving patients
(clinicals). Key topics in each specialty and in
exam technique are covered by lectures.

• Transplant
• Vascular
• Candidates may also sit the examination in
  General Surgery.

THERE WILL BE A 1100 FEE TO ATTEND THE COURSE.
ADMISSIONS ARE BASED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE
