1. Purpose
The Purpose of the Swedish Emigrant Institute is
to

• Promote knowledge about the Swedish Emigration
• On different levels promote research on the
  history of emigration
• To this purpose keep archives, a library and
  indexes on the source material
• Curate and develop the House of Emigrants and its
  holdings
• Promote a deepened relation between Swedish
  ancestors in foreign countries and their former
  homeland
• In cooperation with Växjö university advance
  research on International Migration
