- Multilateral projects focusing inter alia on
innovation, experimentation and the exchange of
good practice in the areas mentioned in the
specific and operational objectives by - a)developing and implementing study programmes or
virtual campuses - b)promoting cooperation between higher education
and enterprises - c)developing strategies to modernise a specific
aspect of higher education.
7ERASMUS What Types of Activity? (3)
- Networks ('Erasmus Thematic Networks') involving
- a)consortia of higher education institutions and
representing either a discipline or a
cross-disciplinary field with the aim of
developing new learning concepts and competencies
('Academic Networks') or - b)addressing a structural or management aspect of
higher education with a view to promoting
innovative solutions and approaches ('Structural
Networks'). - Such networks may also include representatives
from other public bodies and from enterprises,
associations and other organisations relevant for
the network's mission.

students) - you dont have to pay tuiton fee, registration,
examination (as you have payed these already at
your home institution) - you can use social facilities (housing, resto,
health) at the same conditions as the local
students - you dont loose time ECTS

Education (2006-2013)
- The European Union and the United States of
America have signed on 21/6/2006 a new agreement
on higher education for another eight-year period
(2006-2013). - Transatlantic Degree action providing support to
multilateral partnerships of EU and US
institutions for the purpose of setting up joint
study programmes - including joint/double degrees
- and transatlantic mobility of students and
faculty - Excellence Mobility Projects, providing follow-up
financial support for student mobility to joint
consortia that have a proven track record of
excellence in transatlantic cooperation - Policy-oriented measures, addressing comparative
higher education and vocational training issues,
and promoting dialogue on recognition of
qualifications and accreditations - Schuman-Fulbright action providing scholarships
to highly qualified professionals for undertaking
studies or training on the opposite side of the
Atlantic, in areas of specific relevance to the

Education (2006-2013)
- The new programme plans to implement roughly 210
projects with some 4.500 EU and Canadian
individuals participating in mobility activities

- The objective of this call is to support
international curriculum development projects
that involve short term mobility between the EU
and the partner countries not necessarily related
to award of a joint or dual/double degree. - Consortia applying for projects under this call
are formed by at least 3 institutions from the EU
and 2 institutions from a given partner country.
Selected consortia will set up a framework for
student mobility whereby EU students will
typically spend one semester in the partner
country institution and vice versa with full
recognition of the study period abroad by the
