Background of OTE

Model experiment at the First Danish-Hungarian
Production School Foundation
  • Target group, participants in the experiment
  • Drop-out young people in the region of Zala
    county
  • Regional characteristics the rate of the
    unemployed young people is enormous, most of them
    not completed their elementary studies
  • 30 of them are Roma people between 16-25 without
    school certificate
  • Disadvantaged at socio-economic level lacking
    generic skills (ability for life-long learning,
    communicative competence, problem-solving
    competence, ability for work in team, creative
    way of thinking, ICT learning)
  • Low self-esteem, not having future plans
  • Instable family ties and background

Methodology of the model experiment
  • Major elements
  • Applies the methods of transit employment
  • Partnership with the local authorities,
    municpalities, social sevices and associations
  • Special emphasis on individual needs and
    abilities
  • Psycho-social care considering the individual
    training paths tailor-made to meet the needs of
    each young person
  • The process of basic skills acquisition
    (numeracy, literacy and social skills) combined
    with practical training
  • Intensive vocational educational guidance

Report on the model experiment
  • Training from September has launched in two
    professions roofing contractor 14 persons,
  • ornamental gardeners 8 persons
  • Duration of training is 2 year long
  • The curriculum emphasises the improvement of
    vocational skills 23 model theoratical lessons
    2 days of a week practice and work 3 days of a
    week
  • Their training is financially supported by the
    First Danish-Hungarian Production School
    Foundation
  • Participants get scholarship monthly
