Ramses II

• Ramses the second was a very liked pharaoh.
• He brought great things to Egypt.
• Ramses II ruled for a total of 66 to 67 years.
• He was 30 years old when he became pharaoh and
  ruled from 1279-1213 B.C
• He had many wives some being relatives
• About 111 sons
• About 51 daughters

The Nile River

• The Nile helped the Egyptian Civilization with
• Cleaning
• Drinking and eating
• Growing crops
• Protection
• Transportation

Seti I

• Father to Ramses II
• His birth name is Seti Mery-en-ptah, meaning He
  of the god Seth.
• Seti I ruled Egypt for 13 years
• He ruled from 1291 to 1278
• His first wife was Tuya
• His first son died at a young age then he had
  Ramses and then had 2 daughters

Social Classes

• At the top of the social class was the Pharaoh
• Next came priests and nobles
• Third was Traders ,artisans , shopkeepers, and
  scribes
• Fourth is Farmers and herders
• Last was unskilled workers

Gods and Goddesses

• The Egyptians worship many Gods which is called
  polytheism
• Some of the gods are
• Anubis god of the dead
• Ra is the god of the sun
• And Hapy the god of flooding
• Most gods also have the appearance of an animal
  as well as a human

Families

• It wasnt uncommon to have a big family.
  Especially for Pharaohs.
• Usually Pharaohs would have many wives who then
  would have many children.
• If this was the case it would come down to the
  oldest who got to be the next Pharaoh.

Hieroglyphics

• The Egyptians used hieroglyphics to write
• Instead of writing from left to right they write
  from up to down
• Hieroglyphics dont look like regular letters
  they are actually symbols.

Embalming

• This was the process that the pharaohs went threw
  to keep there bodies preserved.
• It took a total of Around 70 days
• First the pharaoh was completely cleaned.
• Then their brain and organs were all taken out,
  the Egyptians believed they did not need them in
  the after life.
• Then the pharaoh would sit in salt for 40 days
• After that they were rapped and put in their
  sarcophagus
