SHDSL / VDSL MIBs

• No Clause 30/45 objects for attributes in
  HDSL2-SHDSL-LINE-MIB and VDSL-LINE-EXT-MCM-MIB
• Simplicity
• Unification of 2BaseTL and 10PassTS
• Name Consistency
• IEEE froze a particular sub-set of ITU-T specs
• Is it the right choice?

• ifStackTable describes/configures actual
  PCS/PMEs cross-connect
• efmCuAvailableStackTable describes
  cross-connect capability (read only)
• ITU-T G.Bond and ANSI M2DSL etc. could import
  cross-connect capability
• Move it to a separate MIB?

PCS/PME Profiles relationship

• PCS Profile overwrites PME
• No need to worry what individual PME profiles say
  when setting a common profile for all PMEs in the
  aggregation group
• PME Profile overwrites PCS
• More function when micro management of a
  particular PME is required

ifSpeed definition

• EFMCu has IFG stripping and 64/65B encapsulation
  overhead optional fragmentation overhead
• ifSpeed definition for EFMCu PHYs
• Net data rate as seen across the MII
• Sum of PME ifSpeeds
• What is the ifSpeed for PME (physical data rate?
  Net rate without the overheads?)

Target SNR Margin

• Currently Target SNR Margin is defined as a
  parameter in the PCS port config table
• Possibly put it in the Profile table
• No Target SNR Margin register in 802.3ah for
  2BaseTL
• Should we keep it?
• Should we move it to the profile?

802.3ah Clause 30 update

• Current Clause 30 is inconsistent and incomplete
• Most MIB objects refer to Clause 45 registers
• Submit a maintenance request to fix errors
