A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets,American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO 2001) Publications, Washington, DC 2001. To introduce students to highway administration and evaluation, geometric design, roadside and drainage design, earthwork, roadway facilities, highway operation, and construction. Final grades will be computed as follows Homework/ Quizzes / Projects (Bonuses) 45 Mid Term Exam 25 Final Exam 30 Total 100 A 90 100, B 80 89, C 70 79, D 60 69 Students with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) should contact regarding the accommodation necessary to complete the requirements of this course. The instructor will make reasonable adjustments to take into consideration the specific handicap of each student covered under the ADA. Quizzes may be given unannounced. Material covered in all Required Text reading assignments and handouts may be included in quizzes and exams even though it may not have been discussed in class. Material presented in lectures may be included in quizzes and exams even though it may not be in the reading assignments or handouts. Grades will be reduced on homework or other assignments if not turned in on time. Refer to attached information regarding attendance. At least two projects will be assigned at the discretion of the instructor.
