Hold the device securely with the front facing down. With your thumb or finger, lift up the top of the back cover.

21Setting Up Your Phone for the First Time
You can start setting up your email accounts and social networks right away. Google, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and other email accounts. Choose which accounts you want to set up. Tap Skip if you do not want to set up accounts. Tap Finish to finish the setup process and go to the Home screen.
22Exploring the Home Screen
The Home screen gives you a lot of real estate to work with so you can add the items you want and need on the Home screen. Add items like application icons, shortcuts, folders, and HTC or Google widgets to give you instant access to information and applications. Press HOME to go back to the Home screen.
23Working with the Extended Home Screen
The Home screen extends beyond the screen width to provide more space for adding icons, widgets, and more. Press HOME, then slide your finger horizontally across the screen to go to the left or right side of the extended Home screen. While on an extended Home screen, press HOME to return to the main Home screen.
24Using the Onscreen Keyboard
When you start a program or select a field that requires text or numbers, the onscreen keyboard becomes available. You can choose from three keyboard layouts QWERTY, Compact QWERTY, and Phone keypad.

31Using the People Screen
The People screen gives you easy access to all of your contacts, favorite contacts, and groups. You can also view new Facebook and Flickr updates of your contacts and the Call History. To open People, press HOME, tap the All programs button and then tap People.

A new browser window opens and goes to the home page that is set.

See web pages come alive on a full-featured mobile browser that displays Flash-based sites. You can also view Flash-based web components in full screen. To do this, open a Flash-based web page. Press and hold the web component to display the Shockwave Flash menu. Tap Play in full screen.
